On the third of October, the sweet candies caught the Black Licorice King and locked him away for eternity. Then they hung up the lights and opened a carnival. The Candy Shadows is a Halloween album about everybody you meet under the arch: the taffy twins Poppy and Pippy, a golden candy corn, a cheerful green blob called Icky Ooie, thirteen witches, a stitched giant who dances as gently as he can, and a vampire and a wolf who have called a truce. It is spooky, sweet and a little bit sticky, and there is a colouring book to go with it.
